Accessibility
A card for everyone.
We want everyone to be able to read about Short Pencil. Here's how this website is made, and how to tell us if anything gets in your way.

Our goal
We aim for shortpencilcards.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most often used for websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we've done
- Readable text. Words and controls have strong contrast, including words set over photographs, and text can be enlarged to 200% without anything being lost.
- A keyboard is enough. Everything works without a mouse, with a clear focus ring and a link at the top of each page to skip straight to the content.
- Pictures described. Every photograph and screen has a written description for screen readers.
- Movement you control. The looping demo of the app has a pause button, and nothing moves on its own if your device is set to reduce motion.
- The film, in words. Our short film has captions for its sounds, and a full written version beside it on the page.
- Small screens. Pages reflow to fit a phone, without scrolling sideways.
